Year by year overview

An overview of important happenings in Skeids history. In chronological order from 1929 to 2009.

1929
District champions in football winning 2-1 over VIF and uses red and blue shirts for the first time

1930
Friendly against PSV (from The Netherlands) winning 4-2. 4000 spectators at Bislet then a gravel pitch. The first Bandy team was established

1937
Skeid plays the A-league in Oslo football district. Also joined the first division League Section C

1938
Took part in The Norway League. Reached 4. round in the Norwegian Cup. Elected third best club in Norway. League Champions in District II group A. Lost League Finale to Fredrikstad. Hans Nordahl made his debut on the National Team against Sweden in Stockholm. Norway wins 3-2 and Hans Nordahl scored one goal.

1939
The Skeid logo was introduced, created by Leif Holm. Skeid played their first finale in the Norwegian Cup but lost to Sarpsborg FK. First ever floodlight match played at Bislet against Sarpsborg FK

1940
Won the Oslo District Championship and played their second cup finale

1945
Again Skeid won the Oslo District Championship and won the finale 3-2 against Lyn. Reached the quarter finales in the cup

1947
Won their first Norwegian Cup Title. Joined the Main League for the first time. Played a friendly against Dynamo Moscow in front of an amazing crowd of 32 000 people (Capacity around 25 000!)

1949
Reached the Norwegian Cup Finale

1950
Skeid now had first division teams in football, ice hockey and bandy

1953
Norwegian Champions for juniors in both Ice hockey and football

1954
Won the Norwegian Cup in football and played the League finale, but lost.

1955
Norwegian Cup winners again.

1956
Won the Norwegian cup finale for the third time in a row and won "the Royal Cup"-trophy for keeps

1958
Won the Norwegian Cup. Aged 40, Hans Nordahl is the oldest Norwegian Cup winner ever. In the same year Hans Nordahl played his 500. game for Skeid.

1959
Won the Norwegian Cup for juniors. Hans Nordahl played his last season, 24 years after making his debut.

1962
Qualified for the new Norwegian 10 club Premier League. Won the Norwegian cup for juniors.

1963
Won the Norwegian Cup

1965
Won the Norwegian Cup

1966
Won the Norwegian League Title for the first time

1969
Won the Norwegian Cup for juniors

1970
Relegated from the Premier League for the first time

1972
Skeid again played Premier League football

1974
Won the Norwegian Cup

1976
Skeids first team relegated from the Premier League.

1978
Skeid again played Premier League football

1981
Skeid faced another relegation to second division (now called The Adecco League)

1982
Skeid played Norwegian third division (third level) for the first time

1986
Skeid once again played second division

1988
Skeid played Norwegian third division

1993
Skeid back at level 2 (now called first division)

1995
Promoted to the Premier League. Skeids Women's Football team established

1996
Skeid finished 9th in the Premier League and was a positive surprise in the spring season.

1997
After only gaining 13 points, Skeid faced relegation. More than 50 % of the first team players left the club. Skeids juniors reached the semi finale in the cup.

1998
Against all odds, Skeid won promotion to Tippeligaen (Premier League). The juniors reached the Quarter finals in the cup .

1999
Skeid is only a few points away from retaining their Tippeliga place, but was relegated. Won the Norwegian Cup for juniors.

2001
Skeids junior team reached the Quarter finals in the cup.

2002
Retains their place in the first division (second level) by a goal scored by Odd Karl Stangnes 6 minutes into added time at Voldsløkka. The junior team reached the Semi finals in the cup.

2003
The value concept Skeid24 introduced. Reaches the semi finals in the Norwegian cup but faces a 2-1 loss against Rosenborg at Lerkendal

2005
Skeid relegated to second division (third level) by a margin of one victory. The junior team reaches the Quarter finals in the cup.

2006
Skeid promoted to the first division (The Adecco League) after one season at level three. The junior team lost the quarter finals in the cup to Rosenborg.

2007
Skeid again was relegated from the Adecco League. Bislet was Skeids new home ground because Voldsløkka was not approved for Adecco League matches. Skeid lost to Rosenborg at home (0-2) in the Cups third round. The junior team was also beaten in the third round after a loss away to Moss.

2008
Skeid is promoted to to the Adecco League with Arild Stavrum as coach. Skeid does very well in 2 Division and the team loose only one league game during the season. Skeid reach third round in the Norwegian Cup, where Fredrikstad FK beats Skeid 3-2 home at Bislett stadion.

2009
Skeid plays in the Adecco League after being promoted from 2 Division the year before.
